What the letters in the code mean

International codes follow the UPU postal standard: two letters for the type of item (for example RR registered letter, CP parcel, LP or UA for many orders from Asia), nine digits and the code of the country of origin (RO, CN…).

Parcels from China and other non-EU countries

Orders from Asia enter Romania through Poșta Română or another courier and go through customs. The international code stays the same; between dispatch and arrival in the country there may be no updates for several days.

How long the item waits for you at the post office

Once a notice has been left, the item is held for a limited number of days, written on the notice. After that it goes back to the sender.

Poșta Română: frequently asked questions

What does ‘predat la factor’ mean?

It means handed to the postman: the postman has received the item and is delivering it to your address, usually the same day or the next.

My parcel has been ‘intrat în vamă’ (in customs) for a long time. What should I do?

For items from outside the EU, customs may ask for duties to be paid or for documents. Keep an eye on messages from Poșta Română and check the notice.

Can I track an ordinary letter?

No. Only registered items (registered letters, parcels) have a tracking code; an ordinary item has no statuses.
