What parcel statuses mean

The stages a parcel goes through

Each courier names its statuses differently, but they all fit the same stages. On xAWB.ro we show them on one progress bar:

RegisteredThe sender created the AWB; the parcel hasn't left yet.
Picked upThe courier collected the parcel from the sender.
In transitThe parcel is moving between the courier's depots.
Out for deliveryWith the driver in your area, or waiting in a locker or at a pickup point.
DeliveredHanded to you or collected from the locker.
ReturnThe parcel is going back to the sender (refused, not collected or a wrong address).

A status we don't recognise yet is shown as written, without a stage, until we classify it.

Status names are shown as each courier writes them (mostly in Romanian), with their meaning in English.

Expedierea a fost înregistrată: The seller has created the shipment. A courier will collect the parcel from the sender.
Coletul a intrat în posesia noastră: Sameday has the parcel: it was either collected from the sender or dropped off by the sender at a Sameday point.
Coletul este în tranzit: The parcel is moving between the central depot and the local depot that serves your address.
Coletul se află în depozitul local: The parcel has reached your area and is waiting to go out for delivery.
Curierul Sameday urmează să efectueze livrarea: The parcel is in the courier's van; it usually arrives the same day.
Colet încărcat în punctul de livrare: The parcel is in the easybox or the pickup point you chose. The opening code arrives by text message or in the Sameday app.
Punctul de livrare este aglomerat: The chosen easybox had no free space (Sameday gives the reason ‘lack of capacity’). The parcel is waiting for a free slot or being moved to another point.
Coletul a fost livrat cu succes: The parcel was handed over or collected from the easybox.
In transit in the origin country: For parcels from abroad: the parcel is still in the country it was sent from and has yet to reach Romania.

AWB înregistrat: The sender has generated the label, but FAN Courier hasn't picked up the parcel yet. The status changes at the first scan.
Expediere în tranzit: The parcel has been collected and is travelling between depots. A few hours or a night can pass between two scans.
În livrare: The parcel is on your local courier's van, usually for delivery the same day.
Destinatar avizat / notificat prin SMS: Expect another delivery attempt, or collect it from the branch.
Adresă incompletă sau greșită: The courier couldn't find the address. Call FAN Courier or the sender, with the AWB to hand, to correct it.
Nu răspunde la telefon: The courier tried to call you but couldn't get through, so delivery is being rescheduled. Keep your phone to hand the next day.
Locker plin: The FANbox you chose had no free compartment. The parcel is redirected or tried again.
Livrat: The parcel was handed to the recipient or placed in the FANbox.
Retur către expeditor: Delivery failed (refusal, wrong address or deadline passed) and the parcel is on its way back to the sender.

AWB emis: The sender has prepared the shipment; the parcel is waiting to be collected by Cargus.
Ridicat de la expeditor: Cargus has taken charge of the parcel.
În tranzit / sosit în depozit: The parcel is moving between Cargus depots towards your town.
În livrare: The parcel has left with the courier, heading for your address.
Destinatar absent / avizat: The courier couldn't find you at home.
Livrat: The recipient has received the parcel.
Returnat: Delivery was unsuccessful and the parcel is returning to the sender.

PREADVICE: GLS has received the shipment details from the sender but doesn't physically have the parcel yet.
INTRANSIT: The parcel is in the GLS network, between depots or between countries.
INWAREHOUSE: The parcel has reached the GLS depot that covers your area.
INDELIVERY: The parcel is on board the delivery van.
DELIVEREDPS: The parcel was left at a GLS ParcelShop; you collect it with the parcel number and an identity document.
DELIVERED: The parcel has been handed over.
NOTDELIVERED: Delivery failed; GLS will try again or take the parcel to a ParcelShop.

Primit de la expeditor: The item was handed in at the counter or collected from the sender.
Sosit în / Expediat din: The item is passing through sorting centres; the town or city is shown in the status.
Intrat în vamă / Ieșit din vamă: Items from outside the EU go through customs checks and can sit there for a few days.
Predat la factor: The postman (factor poștal) has the item and is bringing it to your address.
Reavizat / Trimis la păstrare: You weren't at home. The item is waiting for you at the post office; you'll need the notice and your identity document.
Încărcat la pachetomat: The parcel is in the parcel locker; the pickup code comes by text message or email.
Retras din pachetomat: The parcel wasn't collected in time and has been taken out of the parcel locker.
Livrat: The item has been handed over.

Expedierea ta a fost înregistrată de către expeditor: The sender has created the AWB (‘Shipment data received’), but DPD hasn't picked up the parcel yet.
Expedierea ta a fost preluată de la expeditor: The DPD courier has picked up the parcel (‘Courier Pick-up’).
Expedierea ta a fost recepționată în depozitul DPD: The parcel was scanned on arrival at a depot (‘Arrival Scan’, ‘Received in Office’).
Departure Scan: The parcel has left the depot for the next point or for the local depot.
Out for Delivery: The courier has the parcel and it should arrive today.
Delivered: The parcel was handed over or left at a DPD Pickup point.
Unsuccessful order pickup: The courier couldn't collect the parcel from the sender; there will be another attempt.
Return to Sender: The parcel is being sent back to the sender.

Expediere înregistrată: The sender has created the shipment; TNT hasn't taken charge of it yet.
În tranzit: The shipment is in the TNT network, often on an international route.
Vămuire: For shipments from outside the EU, the parcel is going through customs clearance.
În livrare: The TNT courier is delivering today.
Livrat: The shipment has been delivered; the details may show the name of the person who signed for it.

Pregătită de expeditor: The sender has created the AWB; the parcel hasn't reached PTT Express yet.
Recepționat în depozit: The parcel has arrived at a PTT Express depot and is being sorted for its destination.
Ieșit în livrare: The courier will deliver it today.
Livrat: The parcel was delivered to the recipient.
Returnare la expeditor: The parcel is going back to whoever sent it.
